He wrestled in high school, and had lots of friends. When he graduated,
he joined the army for awhile. Here's a picture of him just after he
got out of the army. He's holding a little "Westie" puppy. His
mother had a kennel, bred West Highland Terriers, so he
was surrounded by dogs and puppies all through growing up.
He was always an animal person, and especially a dog person. All
dogs just loved him - it's like they knew he was their friend. Even
dogs that don't usually like strangers, they always liked Steve.
